PHOTO CELL

$0.00

Lavor PT70ss and PT70ss-plus Diesel Radiant Heaters, the photo cell (or photocell assembly) is a critical safety component that monitors the flame. If it doesn't detect light from the flame within a few seconds of ignition, it shuts the heater down to prevent unburned fuel from spraying.

Troubleshooting a Faulty Photo Cell

If your heater starts but shuts off almost immediately (usually after about 5–10 seconds), the photo cell is the likely culprit. Before replacing it, try these steps:

  1. Clean the Lens: Over time, soot or dust can coat the lens of the photo cell. Gently wipe it with a clean, soft cloth.

  2. Check Alignment: Ensure the cell is properly seated in its bracket and aimed directly at the combustion chamber to "see" the flame.

  3. Inspect Connections: Verify that the wires leading to the main PCB (Control Board) are secure and not frayed.
